The pamphlet is designed to alert people to the issue of health fraud, to direct them to the Bureau to learn how to avoid falling victim to it or to the Canadian Cancer Society for assistance in dealing with their cancer diagnosis. The Canadian Cancer Society will be distributing approximately 50,000 pamphlets across Canada.

Additionally, the Competition Bureau has developed two interactive educational web tools. The first is a mock web site selling a fictitious cancer cure which teaches you how to identify some of the tactics often used by scammers, called the "Anatomy of an Online Health Scam." The second is the "Health Fraud Awareness Quiz" which tests your knowledge of those tactics.
